The Aedes Architecture Forum (since 1980) with the ANCB ‒The Aedes Metropolitan Laboratory is an independent institution: a gallery, campus and platform for global discourse on contemporary architecture and urban design. Aedes is a unique nucleus for Sino-German architectural exchange being the first Western gallery to present Chinese Contemporary Architecture with the exhibition “TUMU” in 2001 and has since then having had many China collaborations. In 2019 it initiated another milestone event within Sino-International Architecture Discourse, the Songyang Conference “Regions on the Rise – Culture and Architecture as Drivers for Rural Development”. The CITYMAKERS-Team is collaborating with AEDES since 2017, when the results of the CITYMAKERS-incubator projects were shown on the platform as AEDES. For autumn 2020 we plan again to benefit from the AEDES plattform for the distribution and exposure of of the 2020 CITYMAKERS-Accelerator results.
