NAX goes China – Joining forces with CITYMAKERS
By invitation of NAX, CITYMAKERS and its implementing agency CONSTELLATIONS were invited to co-design the NAX delegation trip to China from 30/10 until 3/11/2018 as part of the (Project BMU). The core event of the delegation trip in Beijing was a Multistakeholder-Workshop on the topic of “Cautious Urban Renewal- Innovative Urban and Environmental Planning for Megacities in China“. Among the other stakeholders were the dena, with their Eco-Cities programme, the GIZ urbanisation partnership and ICLEI. Other elements of the learning journey were a Pecha Kucha Connecting Evening with at the CROSSBOUNDARIES office, a reception at the German Embassy as well as urban investigations and project visits.
The second part of the NAX delegation trip led the participants to Shanghai. Here, the prelude was a Networking dinner, where the delegation members mingled with representatives of the Chinese building industry and German Architects. The core event of the trip in Shanghai was the roundtable “Urban Regeneration” at the famous Tongji University, where the delegation had the honour to be hosted by the dean of CAUP faculty, Prof. Cai Yong Jie.
