Jonas Schorr is Co-Founder of Urban Impact, a Berlin-based innovation agency with a mission to accelerate Europe’s Urban Tech Innovation ecosystem by connecting the missing dots between start-ups, investors, cities, corporates and ecosystem builders and helping them grow.
Jonas spent the last ten years working on a variety of international projects in the field of sustainable cities in London, Brussels, China and Singapore. Since 2013 he’s been deeply involved in Berlin’s emerging Smart City scene. For the city of Berlin and the Metropolis city network, he helped coordinate and develop an international knowledge exchange platform.
Studying Global Media and Communications, Jonas graduated from the London School of Economics and Fudan University in Shanghai as part of a dual masters degree programme. During his time in Shanghai, he evaluated German-Sino cooperation on Sustainable Urbanisation in the context of the World EXPO. He has published a series of articles and recently contributed a book chapter in “Living in Smart Cities: Innovation and Sustainability“ (2018) focused on Singapore. Since 2014, he has been a jury member of the biannual World Mayor Prize.
